Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration seeks an Associate Software Engineer (BM/SRM) in Huntsville, AL, to develop Java-based software supporting BM/SRM mission capabilities. The role requires a Secret clearance and on-site work.

You will contribute to agile development within a small team, delivering robust software and participating in testing and integration activities. This position offers exposure to critical national defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; or Master’s in a related field.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at start is required.
• Experience developing Java-based software using OO design principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based software applications to support BM/SRM mission capabilities.
• Translate designs and requirements into well-structured, maintainable Java code.
• Support existing Java applications including troubleshooting and testing.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to team standards.
• Create, execute, and maintain unit and automated tests for regression testing.
• Assist with software integration and system-level testing to verify requirements.
• Collaborate with a small, agile team to evaluate software behavior and implement solutions.
• Participate in Agile planning, sprint activities, and follow development processes.
