Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer, Software – SW Architect to lead the evolution of the Java-based Regional C2BMC system architecture. The role requires a current Secret clearance and on-site work with occasional travel.

The candidate will coordinate with RA ART leadership, product teams, and RMAs to maintain architectural consistency. Strong communication and cybersecurity knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field; 8 years experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or 12 years experience as alternative.

Responsibilities

• Refining and overseeing evolution of the software architecture for the Java-based Regional C2BMC system.
• Coordinating with RA Product Teams and other ARTs/RMAs to ensure architecture alignment.
• Supporting briefings, demonstrations, and customer engagements.
• Applying modern software architecture paradigms to guide system evolution.
• Implementing automation and CI/CD to enforce standards and improve test repeatability.
• Communicating architectural intent to diverse stakeholders.
