Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation in Plano, TX is seeking a Project Manager II to oversee projects of moderate visibility and complexity, assembling teams, developing plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables from proposal through closeout. You will interface with customers and internal stakeholders, track milestones and performance, and report status to senior management.

A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in project management are required; active Secret clearance is required and PMP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
• Substitution of degree with equivalent experience allowed.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated experience managing a complex project with multi-function teams.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Current Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects or a larger project, overseeing all phases from proposal development to project closeout.
• Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and identify resources.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed.
• Communicate project status with senior project managers, functional area managers, or program managers.
• Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Ensure timely completion of projects by developing and adhering to schedules.
• Remain agile and flexible to adapt to frequent changes in project requirements or scope.
