Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Data Scientist to support the POTFF program by applying advanced analytics, statistical methods, and data visualization to improve readiness, performance, resilience, and long-term well-being of Special Operations Forces personnel and their families.

You will convert complex operational and health data into practical insights to support evidence-based decisions and strengthen POTFF program outcomes, with active secret clearance at minimum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3 years of experience.
• Advanced degree preferred in CS, IS, analytics, math, or statistics.
• 1–3 years applying quantitative research to optimize human decisions using ML or DL.
• Experience with ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
• Experience with big data architectures (Hadoop, SQL, Spark) on cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets.
• Apply NLP and ML to improve relevance and personalization algorithms.
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and designers on experiments and MVPs.
• Discover, access, clean, and prepare data for modeling; build features.
• Run A/B tests, analyze results, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Develop databases, dashboards, and automated reports to show program performance.
• Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences while protecting sensitive information.
