Job summary

AUSGAR Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in the San Diego, CA area for a DoD-focused role developing embedded firmware and software across multiple ocean systems.

You will work in a fast-paced engineering team responsible for prototyping and product demonstrations from concept to testing. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years in embedded software development with C/C++, Linux, Yocto/Buildroot, and ROS 2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or another STEM field.
• 5+ years of development and integration experience on embedded platforms including Linux apps, kernel/OS, and embedded firmware.
• Experience with embedded firmware/software development and testing in complex electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to identify firmware and software requirements for embedded systems.
• Architect and design robust embedded firmware and software platforms and related build/test processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation such as ICDs and SRS.
• Communicate across engineering teams to coordinate development efforts and prioritize features.
