Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Wisconsin is seeking a full-time secondary machine operator to help set up and run various manufacturing machines. You will work on multiple shifts in a fast-paced environment, focused on safety and quality.

You will monitor production, use calibrated gauges, perform in-process checks, document results, and assist other operators. Training and mentorship are provided as part of our employee development culture.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or better.
  • 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Team-oriented with strong attention to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Process quality parts to product specifications on assigned machines.
  • Use calibrated gauges to check and record production within tolerances.
  • Monitor production runs and ensure correct part processing.
  • Perform in-process control and maintain process quality.
  • Train and assist operators; participate in problem solving and maintenance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a full time secondary machine operator to perform duties to efficiently and effectively assist in the operation and set-up of various types of manufacturing machines. Multiple openings on different shifts.

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to several elements continuously present including heat, dirt, grease, oils, fluids and noise.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Process quality parts to process specifications on assigned machines.
  • Use calibrated gauges to properly check and record production on specific tolerances as required by process documentation.
  • Use required in-process control methods as required by process documentation to monitor and maintain process quality.
  • Control and mark products correctly.
  • Monitor production runs for correct part processing.
  • Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
  • Help train and assist operators as required.
  • Seek help if problems arise and ask questions if you don’t understand.
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.
  • Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
  • Use various testing devices and material moving equipment according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  • Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
  • Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
  • Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand/walk for the entirety of the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous manufacturing experience 1 -2 years preferred
Education
Required

High School or better.
