Job summary

Amsted Automotive is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform basic and skilled mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance across the plant on 2nd shift, Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm.

Work takes place in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grease, and chemicals. The role may require overtime, on-call, and weekend hours, and involves troubleshooting, electrical testing, procurement, and collaboration with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with CNC equipment and PLCs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot CNC and electronic equipment and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform electrical testing across equipment and systems.
  • Prepare requisitions for spare/repair parts as required.
  • Assist outside contractors and coordinate maintenance work.
  • Perform all general electrical repairs and periodic machine maintenance.
  • Document records and assist with training of operators and maintenance staff.
  • Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive is looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform basic and skilled mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant to work 2nd Shift Monday- Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grease, carbon, coolants, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Full-time position. May require overtime, on-call, and weekend hours.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Independently troubleshoot problems and complete corrective actions on all electronic equipment including CNC equipment and programmable logic controllers.
  • Complete all electrical testing.
  • Prepare requisitions for all spare and repair parts as required for presentation to department head/activity leader/team leader.
  • Assist and advise outside contractors on any and all work to be completed.
  • Perform all general electrical repairs.
  • Assist and advise Engineering and other support groups as required.
  • Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
  • Train and assist operators and other maintenance personnel as required.
  • Perform necessary periodic maintenance on machines as required.
  • Use various electrical testing devices, programming equipment and chemicals according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform material handling activities using equipment, including forklifts, according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
  • Understands and performs work functions related to significant environment aspects located within a respective area.
  • Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
  • Understand and perform to the Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Manual dexterity, visual acuity, mental alertness.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
