Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a Dean to join the school leadership team in Memphis, TN. The Dean will work closely with the principal to implement, model, and improve instructional programs across K-12 settings, supporting teachers and scholars with a data-driven approach.

The role emphasizes PLC facilitation, staff coaching, and alignment with GLOE, Curriculum Frameworks, Common Core, and ACT readiness standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tennessee Teaching and/or Admin License required.
• 4+ years of teaching experience at Level 4-5 with gap-closure demonstrated.
• Ability to manage several projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience presenting and working with adult teachers.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Ability to motivate adult learners to improve professional practices.
• Initiative to develop systems and structures to improve teacher practices.
• Strong content knowledge and teaching pedagogy.
• Working knowledge of GLOE & Curriculum Frameworks, Common Core.
• State Standards and ACT College Readiness Standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of iMAC and Google Drive Software, Digital Content, SchoolNet & Schoology.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate teacher understanding and implementation of Common Core Standards and ACT readiness standards via school-wide PLCs.
• Support deployment of GLOE and Curriculum Frameworks through training and feedback.
• Coach teachers using strategies like co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, and side-by-side coaching.
• Analyze teacher practice through classroom observations, data review, and student work analyses.
• Provide direct feedback to teachers based on data and observations.
• Deliver professional development training for school and district meetings.
• Collaborate with the principal to set and monitor academic goals.
