Qualifications

• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout for a job.
• Prepare work using grinders, calipers, rulers, and clamps.
• Operate manual and automated welding units in various positions.
• Fabricate parts by reading blueprints and taking measurements.
• Maintain arc length and travel speed for proper fusion.
• Inspect welds for bead size and specifications.
• Grind or clean weld joints on the workpiece.
• Repair improperly welded pieces as needed.
• Assemble components with hand and small power tools.
• Maintain equipment and change hoses, fittings, valves as required.
• Organize work to meet production timelines and efficiency.
• Record time and work completed via data collection system.
• Meet productivity and quality standards; escalate issues.
• Comply with safety procedures in the plant.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to plan layout and fabrication steps.
• Set up and operate welding units in vertical, horizontal, and other positions.
• Fabricate new or replacement parts from blueprints and measurements.
• Ensure bead size and fusion depth meet specifications.
• Maintain and repair welding equipment and accessories.
• Conform to safety guidelines and quality standards on the shop floor.
