Job summary

Midsouth Steel in College Park, GA is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector for the second shift (Mon–Thu 3:00 PM–1:30 AM with OT as needed). The role involves inspecting structural and miscellaneous steel, reading blueprints, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

You will work closely with welders and fabricators, document results, and maintain quality records in a fast-paced shop environment. Prior QC experience in structural steel is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Familiarity with welding processes, terminology and symbols.
• Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel and fabrication throughout production.
• Monitor welding and fabrication against drawings and specifications.
• Perform visual inspections of welds and components for defects.
• Verify dimensions and fit-up using inspection tools.
• Read and interpret drawings, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Document inspection results and nonconformances accurately.
• Maintain quality records and comply with procedures.
• Assist with final inspections before painting, shipping, or delivery.
• Maintain clean, safe work area during inspections.
