Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department experience preferred.
• Sterile Processing Tech Certification preferred.
• Ability to complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique; ability to learn medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Review surgical schedule to identify instrument needs and ensure availability.
• Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators and OR Desk Coordinator to align instruments with procedures.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble instrument sets; package for sterilization per standards.
• Sterilize reusable instruments following manufacturer recommendations and department procedures.
• Operate and monitor reprocessing equipment; maintain sterilizer records.
• Assist in inventory/maintenance of instruments and supplies; participate in process improvements.
• Communicate updates to co-workers and intra-op staff; orient new personnel.
• All other duties as assigned.
