Job summary

Rocket EMS in California is seeking a Tooling Coordinator Technician on the second shift to manage SMT tooling for PCBA production, ensuring availability, condition, and traceability of stencils, feeders, nozzles, and fixtures.

You will work closely with SMT Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to minimize setup time, prevent tooling-related defects, and maintain accurate records while following 5S and ESD safety practices.

Qualifications

• Understanding of SMT processes and how tool condition affects print and placement.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to read instructions, part numbers, and revision levels.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organized SMT tooling inventory including stencils, feeders, nozzles, and fixtures.
• Verify tooling readiness against production schedules and communicate shortages.
• Inspect tooling for damage and perform required maintenance.
• Coordinate tooling purchases, repairs, and traceability with Eng and QA.
• Prepare tooling for setups and manage changeovers.
• Record tooling locations, status, and maintenance history.
• Support new product introductions and production readiness reviews.
