Job summary

River Metals Recycling, a division of Nucor, seeks a Second Shift Shredder Supervisor to lead the shredding department. You will oversee shredder operations, equipment maintenance, and material handling while upholding safety standards and coordinating with other supervisors.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy industry, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Leadership and practical maintenance knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or related field or minimum 3 years management experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in operations or manufacturing with heavy equipment.
• Experience in scrap metal handling and processing.
• Experience in maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in plant safety and operations daily.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Establish production work schedules.
• Lead hiring, training, developing and coaching staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
• Support management with long-range planning and budgeting.
• Conduct monthly inventory.
• Lead with a hands-on approach and safety focus.
