UE Manufacturing is seeking a Second Shift Welder I at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127. The role involves welding/repair on barges and boats, surface preparation, and fabrication work conducted under foreman supervision. Minimum 5 years in a shipyard, ability to use welding equipment and tools, and strong teamwork are required. Bilingual ability is preferred, and a shift differential is noted for the second shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely use welding machines, grinders, hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety program.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a shipyard environment.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding barge and boat repair and fabrication areas.
• Complete passes to produce full penetration welds on cargo tanks and repair areas.
• Operate welding and grinding equipment safely under foreman supervision.
• Weld steel plate/pipe to repair, fabricate or modify components.
• Maintain safe working environment and follow safety protocols.
• Consult foreman regarding installation or repair problems and scheduling.
• Remove high spots and bevels using tools.
• May tack weld clips and brackets prior to permanent welding.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
