Role Description

The Second Shift SCM Equipment Operator is a full-time, on-site role located in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for safely operating SCM and other woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and process materials according to production drawings and work orders. Day-to-day tasks include setting up equipment, loading materials, monitoring machine operations, performing basic measurements and quality checks, and adjusting settings to ensure accurate output. The operator will follow safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and perform routine equipment inspections and minor preventative maintenance. The role also involves working closely with production team members, reporting any equipment issues, and meeting production schedules and quality standards during second shift operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating SCM or similar CNC/woodworking equipment and familiarity with machine setup and basic troubleshooting.


• Ability to read and interpret production drawings, work orders, and measurement specifications, using tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.


• Demonstrated commitment to safety practices in a manufacturing environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company safety guidelines.


• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort performing routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor preventative maintenance tasks.


• Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to consistently produce work that meets defined standards and tolerances.


• Reliable work habits with the ability to work second shift, stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and meet production deadlines.


• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with supervisors and team members in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.


• Previous experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, or industrial production is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
