Job summary

Central Steel & Wire, part of the Ryerson Family, seeks a Saw Operator for 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM) to ensure precise material cuts per specifications. Qualifications

• Pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail and problem solving.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Operate saw equipment to cut materials to specified dimensions with accuracy.
• Inspect cut pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on the saw equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to safety protocols for a safe work environment.
• Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Break down bulk bundles for customer orders.
• Package material to customer requirements.
• Operate a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material.
• Complete SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Aim for maximum productivity in finished goods creation.
• Other duties as assigned.
