Job summary

Sargent Aerospace & Defense is seeking an Inspector II for second shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 pm – 2:00 am) in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on inspecting materials, processes, and products to meet quality standards and AS9102 first articles.

The candidate will perform receiving inspections and mentor junior inspectors. Requires a high school diploma, 4+ years in manufacturing with mechanical inspection, and proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and optical comparators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing environment with mechanical inspection background.
• Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Basic math and reading comprehension.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials, processes, and products to ensure conformance with quality standards.
• Perform in-process and final inspections for machine shop and production products.
• Conduct receiving inspections of incoming product.
• Create and complete first articles to AS9102.
• Train and mentor less experienced inspectors.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain clean work area.
