Job summary

PPG Industries in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the second-shift manufacturing operations at the plant. You will ensure safe, efficient, and quality production while meeting schedules and regulatory requirements, and you will guide a union workforce.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will drive continuous improvement, coach operators, and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize output on the line.

Qualifications

• Experience leading second-shift manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean tools and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze data and make operational decisions.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA/EPA).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate second-shift production activities (batching, mixing, filling, packaging).
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor workflow, equipment utilization and labor efficiency.
• Coach and develop production operators and staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain production records, shift reports and KPI tracking.
• Communicate shift performance and priorities to management.
