Job summary

Russel Metals (USA) is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor to oversee production, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and material handling on the second shift at our Houston facility.

You will lead hourly crews, ensure safety, quality, and on-time shipment by coordinating workflows, coaching staff, and enforcing company policies in a fast-paced metals distribution environment.

Strong communication and leadership skills required; overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a steel service center, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily second-shift production, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and processing activities.
• Coordinate workflow to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
• Monitor productivity, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
• Prioritize workloads and adjust staffing to meet business demands.
• Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to hourly employees.
• Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Lead daily shift meetings and communicate production goals and expectations.
