Job summary

Xylem is a Fortune 500 global water solutions company seeking a hands-on Production Worker in Rockford, IL. The role focuses on regeneration of mobile water treatment equipment, operating valves and hoses, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and documenting with basic computer skills in a chemical environment.

The position is Second Shift, Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm – 11 pm with a 10% shift differential. You’ll follow safety and quality processes, load/unload deliveries, and participate in carbon

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial setting of process or production manufacturing.
• Forklift Experience.
• Knowledge of chemicals used in specific process preferred.
• Must complete site specific safety training and operator training.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members.
• Familiarity with MS Office suites.
• CARBON: 40-hour hazardous waste operations training.

Responsibilities

• Follow workplace safety and product quality policies.
• Read and follow documented processes.
• Check equipment throughout the shift to ensure proper operation.
• Load and unload deliveries to and from regional branches.
• Operate computer to enter necessary documentation.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Contribute to division results and performance.
• Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
• Execute carbon reactivation and regeneration operations, including equipment operation, product bagging, spent carbon handling, tank changes, resin batch generation, and SDI processing.
• Conduct quality, maintenance, and material handling activities including testing, pH calibration, forklift operation, bottle sorting, and wastewater treatment.
