Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Production Technician in its Newtown, CT facility to set up and operate precision equipment for wafer finishing. The role offers a 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM), with a 10% shift differential and OT as needed.

Primary duties include executing wafer chuck processes, SOP creation, and interdepartmental interface. Applicants should have 2+ years in high-precision manufacturing and a 2-year technical degree is desirable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in high-precision manufacturing.
• 2-year technical degree desirable.
• Experience with ultrasonic cleaning, lapping, interferometers and metrology.

Responsibilities

• Execute key phases of wafer chuck manufacturing and create SOPs.
• Ensure equipment complies with product specs.
• Train department personnel on technical issues.
• Interface with Engineers and other departments.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment.
• Drive waste reduction initiatives.
• Follow SOPs and quality systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
