Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Newtown, CT seeks an Interferometer Technician (2nd shift) to support wafer table production in a cleanroom environment. You will set up, calibrate and operate interferometers, document procedures and collaborate with engineers to optimize performance.

The role requires 2+ years in metrology or quality inspection, proficiency with precision instruments, and reading engineering drawings. Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm; EHS and ISO standards apply.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or metrology.
• Experience operating complex instrumentation such as interferometers or microscopes.
• Experience with precision measurement methods and systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, check out and operate the Interferometer.
• Assist in defining and documenting the Interferometer operation tools and procedures.
• Analyze applicable data to evaluate operations, processes and products.
• Evaluate procedures and recommend changes for efficiency and adaptability to production.
• Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
• Confer with engineers and production personnel to resolve issues.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas.
• Accurate and timely completion and organization of paperwork.
