Job summary

Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Machine Operator for the West Chicago area on the 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday). The role involves operating blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce containers safely and with high quality.

Responsibilities include mold changes, machine adjustments, quality checks, preventative maintenance, and assisting maintenance staff. Strong attendance, communication, and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

Able to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
Strong computer usage and typing skills.
Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently and complete assignments.
Collaborates well with others and proactively contributes to team objectives.

Responsibilities

Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and related equipment.
Perform mold, insert and color changes on the line as needed.
Perform basic processing to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
Assist in preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
Monitor resin, dryer, material handling and color systems for proper conditions.
Conduct on-time quality checks against established standards.
Support other operators and maintenance staff as required.
Document activities promptly and accurately.
Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate staff.
Provide training support for new operators as needed.
Limited travel may be required.
