Job summary

John F. Martin is seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our second-shift housekeeping team in Newmanstown.

You will help keep our refrigerated production facility clean, sanitary, organized, and safe while supporting other plant departments as needed. You will perform duties cleaning restrooms, floors, waste management, dusting, restocking, and assist other departments as needed, all while following safety and PPE guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairways, common areas, dry warehouses, and other plant work areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors; vacuum or shampoo rugs, carpets, and upholstery as needed.
• Empty wastebaskets; move trash, carts, cages, and other waste materials to designated disposal areas.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment; restock supplies; maintain clean storage areas.
• Assist sanitation, processing, ham stuffing, packaging, and other departments as assigned.
• Follow all safety, hygiene, chemical-handling, and PPE requirements.

What You Will Do

Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairways, common areas, dry warehouses, and other plant work areas.

Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using manual or powered equipment; vacuum or shampoo rugs, carpets, and upholstery as needed.

Empty wastebaskets and move trash, carts, cages, and other waste materials to designated disposal areas.

Dust and polish furniture and equipment, restock supplies, and maintain clean, orderly storage areas.

Assist sanitation, processing, ham stuffing, packaging, and other departments when assigned.

Follow all safety, food safety, hygiene, chemical-handling, and personal protective equipment requirements.

What You Bring

Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Knowledge of food safety, manufacturing procedures, and safe work practices. No diploma or formal secondary education is required.

Ability to stand and perform repetitive work for 8 to 12 hours and routinely bend, kneel, squat, reach, grasp, push, and pull.

Ability to push or pull trash carts weighing 25 to 145 pounds.

You must be at least 18 years old because the role may involve OSHA-regulated equipment.

Schedule and Work Environment

Full-time second-shift position, generally Monday through Friday, with frequent Saturday work and overtime as required.

Work takes place in a refrigerated manufacturing environment with cold temperatures, moving equipment, moderate noise, machinery, and sanitation chemicals.

Required personal protective equipment includes earplugs, boots, cut-resistant gloves, and safety glasses. Employees must complete required safety training.
