Job summary

John F. Martin and Sons in the Womeldorf area is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Team Lead to guide maintenance of food production equipment, troubleshoot and repair to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The role leads daily tasks, emphasizes preventive maintenance, safety, and documentation, and requires strong teamwork and problem-solving, with full-time hours Monday through Friday and possible overtime.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food processing.

We are currently hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Team Lead for our Womeldorf location to work with, guide, and help keep food production running safely and efficiently. This position serves as a lead maintenance resource while working alongside the team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance activities and help coordinate priorities based on production and maintenance needs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
• Provide technical guidance and follow-up while working alongside maintenance technicians.
• Communicate equipment status, repair updates, and shift-transition information.
• Complete work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Support equipment reliability, continuous improvement, safe work practices, and a clean work area.

Qualifications

• At least two years of industrial maintenance experience; food processing or food manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems; knowledge of welding and PLCs is helpful.
• Ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, set priorities, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Dependable, self-motivated approach with strong time management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow LOTO, GMP, PPE, food safety, company safety, and maintenance documentation requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in maintenance and production areas within a food manufacturing facility. The employee may work around moving equipment, wet or cold areas, temperature changes, noise, forklifts, production traffic, and sanitation chemicals. The role requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and crouching, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

This is a full-time, hourly position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday. Overtime, schedule changes, or weekend work may be required based on operational and maintenance needs.
