The Patient Transporter assists the Manager of Patient Transportation in the daily operation of the patient transport department.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- No experience required and on-the-job training provided
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- 1 year of similar work experience
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Patient Transportation Department Customers in receiving timely service
- Assist Patient Transporters to achieve desired results
- Train Patient Transporters in proper procedures related to job tasks
- Respond to all requests from customers with a positive attitude and follow up with urgency
- Use proper body mechanics to transfer patients out of and into beds, carts, and wheelchairs
- Assist in lifting and positioning patients as needed
- Communicate with the dispatch desk providing necessary information for patient transports
- Notify nursing personnel when a patient leaves or returns to the patient care unit, and inform relevant departments of patient movements
- Complete all patient transport records and logs accurately
- Treat all patient information as confidential following HIPAA policies
- Dispatch personnel for patient transportation as required
- Attend all required training sessions
- Understand and embody the philosophies and values of ABM Healthcare Support Services
- Use a personal computer in a Windows environment
- Be familiar with transport equipment and operate safely
- Use proper lifting techniques when transferring or moving patients
- Train and orient new associates
- Work effectively in a team environment across departments
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Establish priorities and work independently
- Communicate effectively and treat others with respect
- Handle various workloads and adapt to changing priorities
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at least 25% of the time
