Position Summary:

The Patient Transporter supports the patient care team by performing duties related to environmental custodial maintenance and transporting patients, charts, specimens, equipment; and stocking supplies and linen throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include routine patient transportation, assisting with patient mobility, providing general non-medical information, and supporting the patient care team to ensure a comfortable environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Transport patients between hospital areas, assist with transfers and discharges, and help create a welcoming environment.
• Provide emotional support and basic comfort measures to patients and families.
• Perform sitter duties: maintain visual observation of patients.
• Transport specimens, linens, equipment, and supplies, adhering to confidentiality and safety protocols.
• Participate in team efforts to enhance patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Demonstrates alertness, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• BLS certification required within six months of hire.

Schedule: 4 days/week, Monday-Friday. Part-Time, 32 hours/week.
