Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in DeKalb, IL seeks a Packer I (Second Shift) to support the Thermoforming department by packing finished goods, monitoring quality, reclaim handling, and meeting production targets safely and accurately.

You will verify orders, ensure materials are ready, and label and palletize products, while maintaining documentation and clean work areas on a nightly schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to speak/read/write English.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Verify job orders to determine correct box quantity and corrugated size for each production run.
• Confirm all required materials are staged and ready for packing.
• Position and mark reclaim carts according to reclaim guidelines during production.
• Visually inspect product for defects to ensure quality standards are met.
• Pack finished goods according to customer specifications.
• Set scales for first full box and monitor weights during production.
• Label, seal, and palletize finished boxes.
• Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure machine guarding is in place for safe operation.
• Rotate and replace reclaim carts, pallets, and finished goods as needed.
• Remove scrap from machines and place into designated reclaim carts.
• Monitor reclaim quality according to reclaim procedures.
• Perform daily housekeeping to keep work area clean and free of debris.
