Job summary

Palko Truck & Trailer Shop Inc in Hunker, PA is seeking a skilled Second Shift Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose and repair diesel trucks and trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and keep drivers moving.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or truck/trailer technician.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer systems and components.
• Ability to work independently during second shift hours.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial trucks and trailers during second shift hours.
• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, suspensions, and drivetrain components.
• Inspect and repair trailer systems including lighting, landing gear, and kingpins.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Document all repair work, parts used, and labor in work orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with shop standards.
