Job summary

Palko Truck & Trailer Shop Inc in Hunker, PA is seeking a skilled Second Shift Mechanic to join our team. You will diagnose and repair diesel trucks and trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and keep drivers moving.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or truck/trailer technician.
Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer systems and components.
Ability to work independently during second shift hours.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on commercial trucks and trailers during second shift hours.
Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, suspensions, and drivetrain components.
Inspect and repair trailer systems including lighting, landing gear, and kingpins.
Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
Document all repair work, parts used, and labor in work orders.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with shop standards.
