Job summary

Tamarack Foods in Georgia is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for the second shift (approx. 3 PM–11 PM) to support our battered and fried protein production.

You will maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and document work orders in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates have prior maintenance experience in manufacturing, some exposure to wastewater systems is a plus, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• DAF system or wastewater treatment system experience is a plus.
• Prior food processing experience is desirable.
• Trade school level training in a maintenance discipline or equivalent.
• Familiarity with production equipment, plant facilities, and maintenance activities.
• Detail oriented and team player with a positive attitude.
• High School degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance repair and preventive maintenance tasks to insure equipment and facilities are properly maintained and perform as designed.
• Perform record-keeping documentation on maintenance forms, logs, and Work Orders as necessary.
• Communicate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation personnel involving maintenance activity or corrective action.
• Ensure that departmental maintenance work is performed in a safe and workmanship manner according to company policies and procedures.
• Monitor production equipment for proper operation, performance, and food safety compliance; notify the production lead of abnormal conditions requiring immediate attention.
• Able to work overtime and weekend hours required.
• Follow quality, production, and safety policies.
• Must able to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, bend, stoop and able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Perform other duties as required.
