Job summary

Ferrara Candy Company in DeKalb, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for second shift. You will maintain and repair critical plant equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support projects for reliable mechanical and electrical systems throughout the facility.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate hand and power tools, with forklift certification desirable. Overtime and varied start/end times may apply.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to pass certification test on pallet jack and forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, and production machines as per PM program.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions using precision instruments and diagrams.
• Install new machinery and run utilities between machines.
• Repair electrical components including transformers, motors, and lighting.
• Rebuild machinery as wear occurs and support projects.
