Job summary

Moog in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a 2nd Shift Entry Level Machinist onsite. You will perform basic drill press, lathe, milling and grinding operations, and care for turning and form tools under the supervision of a Production Coach. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, and math basics; at least one year in a Machine Technology program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; or demonstrate ability to understand and apply work instructions in English.
• At least one year completion of an approved Machine Technology program.
• ATDM graduates encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in general mathematics.
• Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations.
• Care for turning/plunge and form tools and operate related equipment.
• Operate shear vise, tapping machine, and understand taps and dies.
• Operate power hand tools, grinders, drills, sanders, and related equipment.
• Operate band saws and maintain appropriate speeds/feeds; blade maintenance.
• Complete required paperwork and perform other duties as assigned.
