Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an entry level 2nd shift Machinist in Blacksburg, VA. The role involves performing basic drilling, lathe, milling, and grinding operations, and maintaining tooling care.

You will use a variety of hand tools and power machines, with paperwork duties and other assigned tasks. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED (or vocational training in Machine Technology) and a basic math proficiency.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand and apply English instructions.
• At least one-year completion of an approved vocational program in Machine Technology or equivalent.
• ATDM graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations.
• Care and application of turning/plunge and form tools.
• Operate shear vise, tapping machine (manual and power), and different taps/dies (metric and standard).
• Operate various power hand tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, disc sanders, sand, and bead blasters.
• Operate power band saw and cut off saw, select speeds/feeds, blade size, and replacement.
