Job summary

O'Neal Steel is seeking a Machine Operator (Non Thermal) for our Peru, IL facility on the 2nd shift. The role involves setting up and operating non-thermal processing equipment such as saws, shears, and digi-benders, plus handling materials with forklifts and cranes.

You will read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and ensure timely, high-quality output. The position requires ability to interpret simple drawings, convert fractions and decimals, and adhere to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Operate non-thermal processing equipment such as saws, shears, press brakes, rollers and digi-benders.
• Operate material handling equipment: forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog.
• Read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Use measuring tools: tape measure, box caliper, slide caliper, and micrometer.
• Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
• Set up and operate non-thermal processing equipment including saws and rollers.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklift, cranes, loaders).
• Read blueprints and follow work instructions.
• Accurately measure using tape, calipers, and micrometer.
• Deliver high-quality work to internal and external customers.
