Job summary

O'Neal Steel LLC in Peru, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator (non-thermal) to set up and operate non-thermal processing equipment, read blueprints, and ensure quality output. The role requires operating saws, shears, press brakes, rollers, and digi-benders, plus various material handling tools.

Shift is 3:00PM-11:00PM, Monday-Friday with overtime as needed. Candidates will work with a range of measuring tools and must pass background checks and drug testing upon offer.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a variety of non-thermal processing equipment including, but not limited to, saws, shears, press brakes, rollers, and digi-benders.
• Ability to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, but not limited to, forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as: tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
• Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, add and subtract in fractions and decimals.
• Responsible for providing high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and wear all required PPE.
• Set up and operate non-thermal processing equipment (saws, shear, press brake, roller, digi-bender).
• Operate material handling equipment (forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog).
• Read and interpret blueprints and follow work instructions.
• Use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer).
• Ensure high-quality output for internal and external customers.
