Job summary

American Wood Fibers, Inc. is hiring a Log Yard Operator for the Jamestown, CA facility on the 2nd shift. The role covers log yard management, shaver operation, equipment handling, and safety compliance. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma are required. The candidate will operate heavy equipment, supervise yard logistics, and support production goals while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License (Required).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to bend, squat or stoop.

Responsibilities

• Keep wood shavings production on track to meet shift goals.
• Operate and maintain shavers and keep boxes topped up.
• Move logs around the log yard and ensure orderly yard for inventory counts.
• Monitor the quality of shavings produced and unload logs from freight shipments.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including loader, knuckle boom, and skid steer.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and wear PPE as required.
