Job summary

Lighteum Medical is seeking a Production Team Lead – Laser (Second Shift) for our onsite San Diego facility. The role supports the Production Supervisor, directs daily production activities, and ensures safety, quality, and productivity.

You will mentor production personnel, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and proficiency in MS Office; medical device experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required; medical device industry experience preferred.
• Experience providing work direction, training, or leadership support in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and draw sound conclusions.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions, manufacturing documentation, specifications, and diagrams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of quality systems, GMP requirements, EHS requirements, and documentation practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience with ERP, MRP, or related manufacturing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently assign work and monitor production schedules.
• Provide day-to-day direction, training, coaching, and performance feedback to production employees.
• Troubleshoot employee, equipment, material, and process issues; coordinate timely resolution or escalation as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency across all operations within the assigned area and support coordination.
• Review and validate production reports, quality records, NCMRs, and operational metrics.
• Coordinate training activities and support employee development with the Supervisor.
• Serve as an operational backup to the Production Supervisor, including timecards review.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements within the area.
• Identify and communicate issues that may impact production schedules, quality, costs, or performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
