Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners seeks a Maintenance Engineer to respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain safe, efficient hotel operations at our Alabama property.

The role requires a high school diploma or trade training, plus 2 years of experience in building maintenance and construction. You will handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry tasks and communicate with management and guests daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; special courses in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest maintenance requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Take water samples and maintain chemical levels for boiler and cooling systems.
• Operate equipment and monitor domestic water systems and electrical switch gears.
• Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance in engineering spaces and daily operations.
• Make rounds to ensure systems are functioning properly.
• Complete maintenance requests, record readings, and log activities.
• Respond to emergencies including alarms and power failures; notify authorities.
• Assist with boiler/chiller operation and temperature control.
• Assist with parking lot maintenance and snow removal as needed.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
