Job summary

AKG North America is hiring an High Horsepower (HHP) Assembler for the Mitchell, SD facility. The role involves locating, retrieving and assembling parts to build large units, using work orders and 3D models.

You’ll move units with motorized cranes and forklifts, prepare for shipping, and ensure quality per AKG standards. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing with assembly experience, reads blueprints, and is skilled with steel components.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a manufacturing environment, with 1 year of assembly experience preferred.
• Able to read and follow detailed blueprints, work instructions, and 3D computer models.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable working with steel components.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and operating cranes/forklifts safely.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in completing assemblies and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Inspect parts like steel components, bearings, and shafts; perform minor adjustments.
• Locate and retrieve required parts for assembly.
• Move assemblies safely using cranes or forklifts.
• Assemble components following blueprints and models.
• Document completed assemblies per AKG and industry standards.
• Meet production quotas set by Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and knowledge of parts and procedures.
• Report issues to supervisors promptly.
• Follow AKG policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
