Job summary

AKG North American Operations Inc. is hiring a High Horsepower (HHP) Assembler in Mitchell, SD for the 2nd shift (2 PM–10 PM, Monday–Friday).

You will locate, retrieve and assemble parts to build large, complex units, using work orders and 3D models, and prepare units for shipping. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in manufacturing with assembly experience, reads blueprints, and is physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in manufacturing, with 1 year assembly preferred.
• Read and follow detailed blueprints, work instructions, and 3D models.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with steel parts, fans, bearings, and shafts.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate cranes or hoists safely.
• Detail-oriented and capable of precise work.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and 3D models.
• Inspect parts such as steel components, fans, bearings, bushings, sheaves, and shafts; make minor adjustments as needed.
• Locate and retrieve parts required for assembly.
• Move assemblies safely using motorized cranes or forklifts.
• Assemble components accurately following blueprints and 3D models.
• Document completed assemblies according to AKG and industry standards.
• Meet production quotas set by Lead or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Build and maintain knowledge of parts and assembly procedures.
• Report issues to supervisors promptly.
• Follow all AKG policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
