Job summary

Valmont is hiring a Material Handler for the 2nd shift (4:00 pm – 2:30 am, M–F) in El Dorado, KS. Starting wage $22.68/hr plus shift differential. Responsible for receiving, issuing and moving materials to maintain production flow and accurate inventory records.

The role requires forklift experience, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Training for overhead crane is provided.

Qualifications

• One year experience operating forklift/heavy equipment.
• Must obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret a tape measure.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare poles in loads for shipping.
• Unload materials upon arrival to keep production flowing.
• Maintain documentation of received and shipped materials.
• Inspect each load for safety and quality.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the yard area.
• Operate lift equipment safely.
• Support inventory accuracy by documenting movements in the system.
