Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a 2nd shift machine operator to support corrugated packaging production. The role focuses on machine setup, quality monitoring, and efficient operation with a team of crew members in a manufacturing environment.

You will assist with training, complete production and safety reports, and adhere to all policies while maintaining high productivity and strong attendance. PCA offers competitive pay and benefits with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as a machine operator or assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist with machine set-up following proper techniques.
• Monitor box quality and communicate issues.
• Ensure finished boxes are stacked for unitizing/palletizing.
• Follow instructions on factory card and by the operator.
• Assist operator to maximize equipment utilization and speed.
• Train helpers on machine duties.
• Complete reports accurately (Production Data, Status, Safety, Lean, Quality).
• Submit maintenance work orders for repairs.
• Be proactive in equipment maintenance.
• Comply with company safety and housekeeping policies.
• Support schedule optimization and report any issues to supervision.
• Collaborate with crew for maximum efficiency.
• Switch duties as required (operating, feeding, pulling, stacking, packing).
• Attendance and timeliness required.
