Job summary

RR Donnelley in Minnesota is hiring a Press Operator 2 for the Flexographic Press on the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), Monday – Friday. The role includes setting up, adjusting, operating and maintaining press equipment, performing make-ready tasks, color corrections, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of flexographic printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements; ability to perform assignments.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications; knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
• Ability to make precise web path adjustments and perform routine operational maintenance of equipment.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, and Google) preferred.
• Experience with Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron, Gallus, Nil Peter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the flexographic press, including mounting plates or installing print cylinders, inspecting plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking image registration, prepping web paths, adjusting tension and register, and other setup activities.
• Make necessary color corrections and anilox adjustments and/or press adjustments prior to production runs to meet and maintain quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
