Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a shop and a team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. You will schedule repairs, coach staff, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance in daily operations on site.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive ASE credentials, and experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems to keep our fleet in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• ASE Master Certified and related ASE credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to lead technicians and ensure safe, efficient maintenance work.
• Monitor performance and redirect activities as needed.
• Report to management and recommend improvements for efficiency.
• Supervise shop activities, conduct training, coaching and evaluations.
• Inspect outside repairs for safety and compliance; follow up as needed.
• Identify training opportunities and document corrective actions.
• Perform quality control inspections and track issue resolutions.
• Oversee diagnostics and road testing for complex repairs.
• Manage inventory and budget within approval levels; escalate major costs.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engines, hydraulics and electrical systems for heavy equipment.
