Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Cedar Park, Texas is seeking a Test Technician III (Environmental) for the second shift to execute environmental tests and analyze results in support of aerospace component validation. The role involves using thermal chambers, vibration tables, shock tables, and thermal-vacuum chambers within the Environmental Test Lab.

You will train new hires, set up test equipment, and ensure all activities are documented for QA inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental testing or similar.
• Ability to interpret and analyze test results.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills.
• Hands-on testing in environmental lab or college lab.
• Training/experience with oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering, wiring, and related tools.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-810G or similar standards is a plus.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW and Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for running test equipment in the Environmental Test Lab (thermal chambers, vibration, shock, thermal vacuum).
• Operate multiple environmental test areas and equipment.
• Train new hires on lab procedures and equipment usage.
• Set up and tear down test hardware for each test.
• Ensure complete documentation for QA inspection.
• Read and interpret procedures, schematics, and drawings.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on quality and process improvements.
• Comply with FOD, tool control, 5-S, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot failures and analyze data.
• Perform related duties to support efficient lab operations.
