Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the second shift to maintain a clean, safe healthcare environment by thoroughly cleaning patient rooms and assigned areas, replenishing supplies, and preparing rooms for incoming patients.

The role requires adherence to infection prevention standards and proper waste-handling procedures, with responsibilities including chemical safety, equipment maintenance, and coordination of special cleaning projects as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of infection prevention standards and chemical safety.

Responsibilities

• Thorough cleaning of assigned areas and upkeep of rooms and equipment.
• Adhere to organizational policies and infection prevention standards.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart, and equipment in orderly condition.
• Replenish supplies and assist with department projects as needed.
• Mix and store chemicals with correct dilution and use PPE as required.
• Use Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms when available.
