Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Front Royal, VA to maintain heavy-duty vehicles with a 3:00 pm–11:30 pm shift. You’ll work with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools in a safety-focused shop, earning $26.00 per hour plus bonuses and benefits.

The position includes paid training, medical/dental/vision coverage after 30 days, PTO from day one, 401(k) matching, and a boot/uniform allowance. Opportunities for advancement exist within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools are required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and digital documentation.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, and company guidelines.
