Job summary

Yancey Bros. Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician for the second shift to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines on heavy equipment. The role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic knowledge and welding skills, with emphasis on safety and documentation.

You will inspect engines, perform tune-ups, use diagnostic tools, and service various systems while working on-site in Georgia. Prior diesel technician experience and ability to read manuals are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience working as a diesel technician.
• Ability to read and interpret operator and repair manuals; follow technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair and/or replace components of frame assemblies, suspension, drive trains, electrical systems, steering and braking.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders.
• Tune up engines and diagnose computer controls and A/C components using diagnostic equipment.
• Welding and brazing; fabricate and modify parts and attachments.
• Complete documentation in a legible, accurate and timely manner.
• Work safely and according to procedures.
• Participate in safety program; perform other duties as assigned.
