Job summary

Ohio State University seeks a Custodial Worker 2 (2nd shift) to support Student Life Environmental Services by performing project cleaning, floor care, carpet and upholstery cleaning, and general maintenance in residence halls and related areas. The role requires climbing ladders, handling equipment, and responding to emergencies while maintaining productivity standards.

The targeted pay rate for this position is $16.70 - $20.88 based on experience. Evening and weekend premiums may apply.

Qualifications

• Six months in Custodial Worker 1 title or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift and move furniture up to 75 pounds.
• Experience with cleaning equipment such as carpet extractor or floor machines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform project work for hard floor refinishing and maintenance.
• Clean and service public/shared areas, residence halls, and related spaces.
• Respond to emergencies and report damages or theft.
• Work 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; weekend shifts required.
